Important Information - VECL Team Selection Schedule and details

Greetings,


Thank you for your interest in joining the team selection for the Victorian Elite Cricket League for the upcoming March 2025 edition. We will be selecting players for the following age categories:


  • 10 and Under Mixed

  • 12 and Under Mixed

  • 14 and Under Boys

  • 15 and Under Girls

  • 16 and Under Boys

  • 19 and Under Boys


We’re excited to have some talented girls participating in all the age group categories. We will work with them and their respective parents.

Please note that the age cut-off is December 1st. For instance, if your child turns 14 by December 1st, they will be eligible for the 14 and Under team.


The team selections are set for November 24th and December 1st, 2025. The franchises, including Northern Warriors, Western Falcons, and Eastern Panthers, have retained about 75 of their current players and are looking for an additional 75 players. A new franchise is also in the process of forming its teams. This presents numerous opportunities to join this growing league and compete against skilled opponents on high-quality turf wickets.


Try out Schedule

  • 10 and Under & 12 and Under: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

  • 14 and Under Boys & 15 and Under Girls: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

  • 16 and 19 and Under Boys: 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM


Important Notes

  • If you are unable to attend, please understand that we cannot offer additional sessions or refunds.

  • Make sure to bring your cricket kit, water bottle, and appropriate training gear.

  • Selection will be determined solely by the coach’s decision.

  • We’ve arranged back-to-back selection sessions for other age groups, so punctuality is essential for a smooth process and a positive experience for all.

  • Lastly, we kindly ask that you treat our administrative staff and coaches with respect to ensure an enjoyable tournament for everyone involved.

If you have previously participated in the VECL events in December 2024, March 2025, and July 2025, and have received a retention offer from your club, please note that you do not need to undergo the selection process.
