July 2026 marks an important new chapter for the wider Elite Cricket community—and for the Victorian Elite Cricket League.
Elite Cricket Academy has completed five years, opened its third academy centre at Pakenham, launched a new online booking and customer platform, and introduced AI-supported customer service across voice, text and WhatsApp.
These milestones matter to VECL because our league is part of a much bigger purpose: creating more structured opportunities for young cricketers to train, compete, be recognised and continue progressing.
Five years of building a connected cricket ecosystem
What began as one cricket academy has grown into three centres—Hoppers Crossing, Medavakkam in Chennai and Pakenham—supported by academy coaching, high-performance programs, Pathfinder player-development tracking, Elite Sports retail and VECL competitions.
VECL provides the competition and game-experience component of this ecosystem. It gives players the opportunity to put their skills into practice, experience organised tournament cricket, build confidence under match pressure and create memories with teammates and families.
Growing our reach through Pakenham
The launch of Elite Cricket Academy Pakenham in May 2026 has expanded the Group’s presence into Melbourne’s south-east and created new possibilities for VECL programs, indoor competitions and player development.
For families across the region, this means greater access to Elite facilities, coaching and organised cricket experiences. For VECL, it strengthens our ability to connect players from different areas and continue building competitions that are inclusive, well-structured and development-focused.
Technology supporting better service
Our new web-based booking and customer platform is designed to make it easier for players and families to access programs and services across the Elite network.
At the same time, our AI-supported call centre is helping the Group respond more efficiently through voice, SMS and WhatsApp. These systems will support clearer communication, faster answers and better follow-up while our staff remain available whenever a matter needs personal attention.
For VECL, this technology gives us a stronger foundation for future registrations, player communication, tournament information and customer support.
Thank you to the people who make VECL possible
We are proud of our team’s flexibility and commitment during this period of rapid growth. We also recognise the coaches, officials, scorers, volunteers, franchise partners and venue partners who help turn tournament plans into meaningful cricket experiences.
Most importantly, we thank our players and families. Your support, enthusiasm and feedback have shaped VECL and the wider Elite Cricket Group. Every match, training session and tournament day is made possible by the trust you place in us.
The next innings begins
Completing five years is not a finish line. It is the foundation for our next chapter.
As we look ahead, our focus is to build stronger competitions, clearer player pathways, reliable communication and more opportunities for talented young cricketers across Victoria and beyond.
July 2026 will be remembered as the month when Elite Cricket Group brought its expanding network, technology and customer-service vision together—and began its next innings.
Five years of building. Three centres. One connected cricket ecosystem. And we are only getting started.
Thank you for being part of the VECL and Elite journey.
