Important updates from VECL for March and Winter Tournaments!

We appreciate your interest in the upcoming JT20 tournament in March 2026. The schedule is now available, with the tournament set to commence on March 14, 2026.

If your child is selected, they will participate in five matches on premium turf wicket grounds on these dates: March 14, 15, 21, 22, and 28. A grand final is scheduled for March 29, should the team advance. All matches will be live-streamed and scored through our dedicated app.

We will hold team training and selection sessions on the following dates:

- Monday, February 16 (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM): Junction Oval Indoor Nets, Cricket Victoria, St Kilda.

- Monday, February 23 (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM): Elite Cricket Academy and Sports Centre, Hoppers Crossing.

The selection process will be overseen by:

1. Dale McDonald: Head Coach of Footscray’s Victorian Premier Cricket Team

2. George Shaw: Senior Coach, Essendon Maribyrnong Premier Cricket Club and Talent Identification Director

3. Shan Shanmugha: Senior Coach and Selector, U17 Regional team

Attendance is optional for players already offered a spot based on past league performance. For new participants, this is a chance to demonstrate your skills for selection. The league will finalize the 24-player roster for each age group after these sessions. Winter 2026 Tournament Plans

We’re working with several clubs to form teams for the upcoming Winter 2026 season tournaments. These tournaments offer players a great chance to stay engaged with the game and gain valuable experience against strong opponents.

We will be fielding:

🏏 *2 x Under 14 Mixed Teams*

🏏 *2 x Boys Senior Teams* (players aged 15+)

📅 Matches will start in early April and continue through September, with one match every two weeks.
