Applications Open for VECL Team Selections in Chennai and Melbourne
The Victorian Elite Cricket League is inviting aspiring cricketers in India and Australia to apply for the upcoming VECL team-selection process.
With selection opportunities available in Chennai and Melbourne, VECL continues to build a connected cricket pathway that gives players the opportunity to compete, develop and represent professionally managed franchise teams.

Chennai, India Team Selections
VECL India’s new Franchise T20 League season will run from January to April 2027, with matches played on Sundays.
Team-selection sessions will be held on:

Melbourne, Australia Team Selections
VECL Australia is inviting talented junior boys and girls to apply for its December 2026 team-selection sessions.
Selections will be conducted on:
Monday, 7 December 2026
Time: 6:00 pm–8:00 pmVenue: Junction Oval, St Kilda
Monday, 14 December 2026
Time: 6:00 pm–8:00 pmVenue: Elite Cricket Academy, Hoppers Crossing
The Australian selection fee is A$20.
These sessions provide young cricketers with an opportunity to showcase their batting, bowling, fielding, fitness and overall match awareness in front of the VECL selection team.

More Than Just a Weekend Tournament
VECL is designed to provide players with a structured and meaningful cricket experience.
Selected players may have the opportunity to enter the VECL franchise draft, represent an established franchise and compete in an organised tournament environment.
The selection process will consider more than individual skill. Selectors may also assess:

Game awareness and decision-making
Fitness, movement and fielding
Attitude and coachability
Teamwork and communication
Suitability for franchise requirements
